Immigration Law approved in Portugal: what changes for expats and immigrants
On July 16, 2025, the Portuguese Parliament approved a new version of the Foreigners Law (Foreigners Law / Lei de Imigração) which introduces important changes to the regime for entry, stay, family reunification, and job seeker visas. Some measures were adjusted to respect Constitutional Court decisions, but the new framework brings stricter rules and reinforced criteria.
