“We are more than an accounting firm; we are strategic partners.”

Daniel da Rocha Cardoso is a Certified Accountant who founded FA Accounting & Management in 2020. With a distinctive approach to the sector, the company now aims to establish itself as a benchmark, not only in Portugal but also internationally.

What would you like to highlight about your professional career? From an early age, I realized that accounting goes far beyond numbers — it’s about people and personalized solutions. I started my career in traditional firms, where I gained a solid technical foundation, but I also noticed a lack of real proximity to the client. In 2020, I founded FA Accounting & Management with a different vision: to be a strategic partner for those who invest or move to Portugal. Today, I lead a multidisciplinary team focused on empathy, technical rigor, and innovation.

What services does FA provide, and what makes it stand out in the market? We provide certified accounting, tax consulting, business formation support, payroll processing, tax representation, investment optimization, immigration support, and assistance for freelancers and digital nomads. What distinguishes us is our personalized approach, the financial literacy we promote, and our commitment to technology without losing the human touch. Every client is unique — and so is the service we provide.

What is your assessment of these five years of activity? Extremely positive. We grew during the pandemic, gained the trust of national and international clients, and became a reference in supporting citizens from over 30 nationalities. We expanded to Lisbon, Porto, and Leiria, implemented remote work, and invested in the continuous training of our team. Today, we are more than an accounting firm; we are strategic partners.

Regarding the future, what goals do you intend to implement to continue growing the company? We want to consolidate FA as a national and international reference for foreigners, freelancers, and micro-enterprises. We will launch FA HubSpaces — a co-working and training space in Lisbon — and strengthen support for investors. We are committed to cutting-edge technology, new partnerships, and recruiting professionals who are aligned with our values. We also want to help value the accounting profession in Portugal, promoting a more consultative and educational role.

How do you see the current state of accounting in Portugal? We are experiencing a profound transformation. Digitization and tax demands require more than execution: they demand a strategic vision. The traditional accountant is giving way to the trusted consultant. Unfortunately, many still operate with obsolete models. I believe in a future based on personalization, innovation, and financial literacy — pillars that we apply daily at FA.
